| Mediaeval at Hampton Court I
normally loathe doing Mediaeval-themed events but this was a challenge.
Design a layout for 300-odd US & British BAFTA stars for a
televised Awards ceremony. I needed all my Drawing skills which you can
take advantage of if you

| Italian Opera theme
This was more fun. After seeing The Marriage of Figaro, I
wanted to re-enact the same theme so that guests would enter the Dining
Room at the theatre and recognise it immediately |

| Well, it makes a change from fireworks.
This magnificent set of fountains dances to lights & music -
sensational! You can add lasers & fireworks - Wow! |
 |
| Would you believe "Baroque 'n Roll"?
(Ouch). This theme was just right though for a dinner for 1,000 guests
at the magnificent Blenheim Palace. |
 |
| Characters - I love using them. To move guests
from A to B, to set an initial atmosphere, be a side-act and so on. Here
are a couple of my favourites. First, a stilt walker ghost character (look at his
boots!)

| Another character - perhaps the best of all.
An Ostrich stilt walker chasing guests out of a marquee to see a special Performance |
 |
| I was asked by a Society magazine to appear in a feature
and they decided to slant it as ".... the master of surprise".
They wanted me to provide something illustrating this, so we set this up. This
angle was because I do keep banging on about how important it is to create a sense
of anticipation at events so the guests are not quite sure quite what is
going to happen next. Hoist with my own something-or-other! |
